The historic Silwan Spring is considered one of the most famous and oldest springs in occupied Jerusalem. It extends back to about five thousand years ago, and is considered the only natural water resource in the city. The spring was not only a resource for the people of the town of Silwan, but also for all the surrounding villages… What increased its importance was that it was an Islamic endowment. Over the past years, the spring was exposed to the attacks of the occupation and its settlement associations.
