Megaphone is an independent media platform that produces explainer multimedia content covering local news. We publish analytical and critical content adapted to digital media, be it multimedia or text.

Megaphone was founded in 2017 by a multidisciplinary team of young journalists, researchers, and designers. Our aim was to demystify Lebanese politics, and bring it closer to audiences that feel alienated by the approach of mainstream media. Born on Facebook, Megaphone likes to be medium-specific and meet its audience where it dwells. We now have active channels on Instagram, Twitter, Youtube as well as this website which is home to all our text-based pieces. Megaphone questions and counters the establishment’s entrenched narratives, and features stories and voices of marginalized groups that are often excluded or stigmatized by traditional media. We act as a watchdog to both the political establishment and the media landscape, exposing misleading and inaccurate stories and statements.
