Although Ukraine is far away, the Russian invasion is already having an impact on the economic and political situation as well as on the daily live and media discussions in the Middle East. Oil prices are rising, currencies are inflating, wheat from Ukraine for bakers in Lebanon is missing, and what does this war mean for the security of countries in the Middle East?
Despite the geopolitical reasons for these local concerns, most local and national media in the Middle East can mostly rely on information from international sources for their audiences. We are therefore pleased to invite you to ask your questions and speak directly with Ukrainian experts in our QaribTalks #1 with Dr. hab. Alexander Bogomolov, Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Ukraine, Dr. Hanna Shelest, Director of Security Programmes at the Council for Foreign Policy “Ukrainian Prism” and Ines Ben Kraiem, Deputy Director for Egypt and the Levant at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The debate will be translated into Arabic, but Dr. hab. Bogomolov speaks Arabic – so take the opportunity to join the #QaribTalks.
