Doaa Rouqa, a Palestinian journalist from Gaza, has harbored a passion for journalism since childhood. Motivated by her brother’s death in the 2006 conflict, she dedicated herself to capturing the realities of war. Despite facing danger and displacement, Doaa persisted through multiple wars in Gaza, including a recent brutal conflict she terms a “war of extermination.” Despite grappling with fear and longing for family, her unwavering commitment to journalism reflects her deep message for a ceasefire in Gaza and a return to normalcy. Her story epitomizes the human cost of war and the enduring hope for peace.

Maryam, a young woman (28 years old) from Al-Hamdaniya in the Nineveh Plain, turned the crisis into hope and became an inspiration to her peers. She learned to design invitation cards and cards for companies and projects online during the Corona period. She opened a private studio after the ban was lifted and employed 3 girls.
